India is the world's largest democracy. Yet most citizens lack a simple, factual view of how its institutions are performing over time. Loktantra Ledger fills that gap — with charts, not commentary.
Our approach

- Every metric links to its original public source.
- We show ~25 years of trends — not snapshots.
- We do not publish a single “democracy score.”
Non-partisan by design
Loktantra Ledger is informational only. It is not political advocacy. We do not endorse parties, candidates, or policies. Numbers can be interpreted differently — we present them so you can draw your own conclusions.
Limitations
Public data in India is often incomplete, delayed, or revised. Some metrics use election-year snapshots rather than annual data. We note gaps where they exist and never estimate missing values.
